Join our choir

We begin rehearsing on 10th Jan 2024, and new members are warmly welcomed to the choir and we encourage anyone with an interest in choral singing to get in touch. While choral experience is valuable, a love of singing and a desire to learn is more important. We do not audition new members – you will be introduced to a Part Representative who can help you find the right voice and place in the choir.

Rehearsals

Where: Crossways Community Baptist Church, Junction Road, Dorking, RH4 3HB (opposite the vehicle entrance to Waitrose car park)

When: Wednesday evenings, all year, except for July and August.

What time: 7:30pm to 9:30pm (with a refreshment break), after which we enjoy a drink and a catch up at a local pub.

Subscriptions

Singing members pay an annual subscription which covers three terms of singing, four concerts, a professional conductor and musicians and, from September – June, a central Dorking rehearsal location.

Annual subscription: 2023/24 – £195

Members under 30yrs: FREE

Annual subscriptions are set by our Committee, with a generous discount for early payment.

There is an additional charge for our Spring concert which is part of the Leith Hill Music Festival.

What do you enjoy about singing with DCS?

Singing a variety of music works, in a friendly, supportive group. Always lots of ways to learn and keep brain active.

Hilary

It is a very friendly choir and everyone is made to feel welcome. We sing to a high standard and there are lots of activities outside of singing to enjoy.

Jan

I enjoy the experience of coming together to sing as a group with other like minded enthusiastic amateurs.

Juliet

This is hugely rewarding. I enjoy the whole experience of learning with gifted conductors and accompanists and singing with so many equally gifted singers, all of whom I regard as friends who always support and encourage one another.

David

Everything! Great music, good sound, friends who enjoy choral singing and lots of different experiences.
