Our Autumn Concert November 2025

On the 16th November DCS performed 3 wonderful pieces to an almost ‘full house’ at St. Martin’s Church, Dorking. These were:
Sumsion: They that go down to the sea in ships
Vasks: Dona nobis pacem and
Haydn: Imperial ‘Nelson’ Mass

We were also treated to the orchestra (The Bridge Sinfonia) playing the beautiful ‘Adagio for strings’ by Samuel Barber, which was fabulous. We then welcomed Caroline Bourg (soprano), Angelina Dorlin-Barlow (mezzo soprano), Jacob Cole (tenor) and Redmond Sanders (bass) singing the solos for the Haydn. DCS gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Josephine Baker Trust for all the soloists who sang so beautifully at the concert. Gavin Roberts played the organ throughout the performance and it was wonderful to have our previous pianist/accompanist back with us. Last but not least our conductor, Daniel Mahoney guided us throughout the whole programme, having worked with us all term to be able to produce a high quality, confident and well-rehearsed concert.
The evening was a rounding success, with the audience’s enjoyment etched in their smiling faces at the end of the performance.
