Come and Sing Duruflé Requiem Conductor Timothy Ferguson Saturday 26 October 2019

Join us for a day of music making and meet our delightful new conductor, Timothy Ferguson.

Starting at 10.00 am, finishing with a performance for friends and family at 3.30 pm. The cost of this brilliant day of singing, including conductor, soloist, accompanist and hire of music: £18. Under 25s free

We will be singing the beautiful Duruflé Requiem in the United Reformed Church in Dorking, West Street, Dorking, RH4 1BS.

We are very privileged to have internationally acclaimed Alexandra Meier - Mezzo-Soprano,  joining us for the day:  so this will be a very special occasion and not to be missed.

During the past season Alexandra Meier performed the role of “Der Trommler” in Viktor Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis at Theater Basel, and “Hänsel” in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz. Previous performances include “Anneli” in Dai Fujikura’s Der Goldkäfer, also at Theater Basel, and as a member of the ensemble in the contemporary music theatre piece Ruâh by Jonas Marti and Maja Linderoth.

As an oratorio soloist she has sung Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor at the European Youth Choir Festival, E.T.A. Hoffmann’s Miserere at the Lisbon Music Fest and Vivaldi’s Gloria in D Major.

Alexandra is from Basel, Switzerland, where she studied with Isolde Siebert at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. Alexandra now studies with John Evans at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Remember: Singing is Healthy, Sociable, and Good Fun! We look forward to you joining us.
