About Dorking Choral Society

We look forward to seeing you at our regular Wednesday rehearsals, 7.30 pm at Crossways Community Baptist Church.

ALL singers are welcome, so please pass information on to anyone you think might be interested in joining the choir on a “taste and try”  basis.  If you have sung with us before, why not try us again?

Our Musical Director Richard Wilberforce  has planned an exciting concert to start our choral year and our 18th November concert will be Bach's monumental Christmas Oratorio.

Our Christmas concert this year will be held at the United Reformed Church and we hope to include contributions from the St Joseph’s school children’s choir.

The choir has had a long association with the Leith Hill Musical Festival  and we take part in it each year.  The Festival gives us the opportunity of performing in a 250-300 strong choir.  This year will be the first festival with re-arranged choir groups, under the direction of Jonathan Willcocks. We will be singing Edward Elgar's 'The Kingdom' as our main piece alongside choirs from Bookham, Dorking, Holmbury St. Mary and Mickleham, accompanied by Southern Pro Musica.

We will also be having a summer term event and we also hope to arrange a tour to France - watch this space!

All these dates and venues and Committee details are given in our new information leaflet, distributed at the first rehearsal. All current DCS news and information can be found here on this website; concert details are shown in Our Programme.  There are also a number of excellent photos of the summer tour to Cardiff in the Gallery, so do check this out.

So once again, a very warm welcome to you all and we look forward to seeing you all.

Nick Wright (Chair) and the DCS Committee.
